I. Call to order
Dr. Dan McBride called to order and opened the session with prayer for the regular meeting of the Texas Taxidermy Association at 4:51PM on 6-24-2016 in Lubbock, Texas. The meeting opened with prayer by Dr. Dan McBride.

II. Roll call
The TTAI conducted a roll call. The following persons were present:
Dan McBride;; Linda Poerner; Jimmy Fontenot; James Poerner, Brian Fees; Clay Wagner; Daryl Hajek; Ben Cromeens; Jerry Huffaker; James Newport; Mark Hernandez, Jacob Poerner & Mason Morrison

Excused Absences: Roy Holdridge; Marie Holdridge; Jake Carter; & John Paul Barber

III. Quorum Announcement
A quorum is present.

IV. Amendments/Additions to Agenda
None.

V. President’s Remarks
Dan thanked Jimmy Fontenot for helping the convention run smoothly. Thanks to the board as well.

VI. Treasurer’s Report
Linda provided a report of current financials. Total balance is $31,822. This includes $2,675.00 for Bob Wilkins scholarship fund.

VII. Committee Reports

  • Convention Chair: Jimmy Fontenot –Doing good.
  • Competition Room Committee – Dan reports that judging underway and should finish on time.
  • Supply Room Site Committee – Jacob Poerner reports going well – goal to make the best better
  • Judges and Seminar – Clay Wagner reports very well.
  • Friday Night Committee –.
  • Activities Committee –
  • Sponsors & Vendor Committee – Jimmy Fontenot, chair,.
  • Points Keeper – Katie (Poerner) Hewitt, chair reports on tune.
  • Awards Committee – James Poerner, chair reports
  • Photography Committee – Clay Wagner, chair reports we have a lot of awards.
  • Bylaws and Rules – James Poerner chair reports will be updating rules.
  • Site Selection Committee – Ben Cromeens, chair reports we are good for next 3 years.
  • TTAI Magazine – Jerry Huffaker, chair states glad to brag, everything going well.

VIII. Old Business
a) Provenzano Points Database and Future Information on TTAI.org - Jerry Huffaker reports that the TTAI hire someone to go pull electronic information together. Information about Provenzano will be provided on TTAI.org.

IX. New Business
a) Next Board Meeting – August 6th in Kerrville. Jimmy Fontenot reports he will be out of the country and unable to attend.
b) Proposed new TTAI Committee Position – Membership/Convention Registration. This was discussed in our last Board meeting. The TTAI will be hiring someone to fill this position.
c) Competition Proposal – Joe Kish. (See handout.) He suggests the addition of a “Best Interpretive Exhibit” competition to the TTAI annual convention and competition. The criteria for judging includes taxidermy work and subject matter in the exhibit. Winning this competition then requires that the exhibit then becomes the property of the TTAI, who would then be responsible for donating it. The TTAI Board will discuss and decide on this proposal at the next regularly scheduled Board meeting on August 6th.

X. Adjournment
Dan McBride after motions and numerous second by the Board members adjourned the meeting at 5:24 PM.
